UK and Dutch delegations meet to discuss the future of the North Sea

Yesterday was a big day for TheNxtStep of the energy transition on the North Sea.

We have successfully delivered our North Sea Roundtable event with beyond-expectation results. We would like to extend our utmost gratitude to all 33 delegates from both the Netherlands and the UK, for their active participation and the insightful contributions.

Delegates were assembled under the collective vision for an integrated renewable energy system on the North Sea. The group, consisting of decision makers from the energy industry, academia and government-related organisations, shared a sense of urgency. They all believe that a cross-national collaborative framework is needed – now – to optimise use of North Sea as a renewable energy hub.

With the tactful and effective facilitation from Anna Mackenzie and Marijke Shahsavari-Jansen, the delegates worked in groups, inspiring each other and generated constructive conversations under the themes of a consolidated view on the North Sea, the role of governments, standardisation, supply chain, public support, and market arrangements.

This workshop was run without screens. With delegates engaging extensively, the unique approach that TheNxtStep adopts has helped organisations define and achieve their strategic goals by harnessing human connections and unlocking creative thinking.
